Woman jailed for removing knife used in student murder

A mother has been jailed for three years for hiding the knife her son used to commit murder. Kiran Kaur took the weapon after her son Vickrum Digwa stabbed 18-year-old Henry Nowak to death in Southampton on 3 December 2025. Nowak was walking home from a night out when he was attacked. Digwa used a 21cm blade to kill him. After the murder, Kaur removed the knife to protect her son and obstruct the police. Officers later found the weapon at the family home, along with more than 20 other knives. Digwa was sentenced to life in prison in June 2026, with a minimum term of 21 years. Kaur was convicted and sentenced at Southampton Crown Court.
