Wisconsin congressman rescued after small plane lands on lake

U.S. Representative Tom Tiffany was rescued from a lake in Wisconsin on Saturday evening after his small plane lost power. Tiffany and the pilot were flying back from a political dinner when the aircraft developed a mechanical problem. The pilot could not reach the nearby airport, so he landed the plane on Lake Wausau instead. Both men got out of the plane and swam to shallow water. Emergency services received a call at 20:49, and a fire department airboat reached them about 15 minutes later. Tiffany suffered minor injuries. The plane is still in the lake and will be removed later. The FAA has said it will investigate what caused the engine failure.
