Welsh father and son both win sheep dog world championships

A father and son from Wales have both won world titles at the same sheepdog competition, the first time this has ever happened.

David Howells and his 19-year-old son Jack, from Cymmer in Neath Port Talbot, competed at the Sheep Dog World Trial in Scotland. David won the senior world title with his Border Collie, Wyverne Pip, who scored 671 points in the singles event. Jack won the Young Handler world title with his dog, Cydros Boss.

The four-day competition brought together around 300 handlers from 34 countries. Each handler works with a trained dog to move sheep through a course. No parent and child had ever won titles at the same event before.
