Video game 4 Penny Coffins features detective and demon gameplay modes

A new horror video game called 4 Penny Coffins was shown at gamescom this week. The game lets up to eight players work together online to find a hidden killer. One player takes the role of the Ripper, a demonic murderer who must lie and mislead the others. The remaining players act as investigators who gather evidence. Each round has three phases. First, the Ripper hunts victims. Then investigators collect clues. Finally, everyone votes on who they think the killer is. The Ripper can use fake evidence and change their alibi to avoid being caught. The game is set in the 19th century and is inspired by real serial killer history. A separate solo mode called Magistrate offers a different experience for players who prefer to play alone.
