Vertical acquires U.S. distribution rights to Serbian post-apocalyptic film Sanctuary

American distributor Vertical Entertainment has bought the U.S. rights to "Sanctuary," a post-apocalyptic thriller made by Serbian production companies Void Pictures and TS Media. The film stars Nina Kiri, known for "The Handmaid's Tale," alongside Dutch actor Jonas Smulders and Serbian actor Darko Perić, who appeared in "Money Heist." Filip Kovačević wrote and directed the film, and the screenplay is entirely in English. TS Media is the film division of Serbian telecoms giant Telekom Srbija. The film is still in post-production and will be released in May 2026. A separate company, Sublimity Entertainment, is selling the film to other countries and has already closed several international deals.
