US uses British bases for strikes on Iranian missile sites

Britain has allowed the US military to use its bases to attack Iranian missile sites. American B1 bombers flew from RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire to carry out the strikes. Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the action was "defensive" because it destroyed Iranian missiles before they could be fired. He said Britain was not part of the first strikes and would not join any offensive operations. The government also published a legal summary to explain why the decision was lawful. Iran's Revolutionary Guards have now warned that any base used to bomb Iran is a legitimate target. They named RAF Fairford directly, saying it was used for bombing missions against Iranian territory.
