US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Oslo on Tuesday, then flew to St Petersburg on Wednesday to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The talks are part of a US effort to end the war in Ukraine. Finnish President Alexander Stubb joined the Oslo meeting and said the two sides had made "genuine progress" on peace proposals. Ukraine and its European allies gave Witkoff new proposals to bring to Putin.
Zelensky confirmed that the US has restored intelligence sharing with Ukraine, including early warnings about ballistic missile attacks. The two countries had recently disagreed about this.
