United States conducts seventh consecutive night of airstrikes on Iran

The United States military carried out airstrikes on Iran for the seventh night in a row on Friday. The strikes hit military sites in southern and central Iran, starting at 7pm GMT. A tower at Chabahar port was destroyed. The US said the tower was used by Iranian forces to attack ships. Iran reported three people killed and eight injured in Hormozgan province. Iranian media also described explosions near Bandar Abbas and on Qeshm Island. Iran responded by sending drones at US military bases in Kuwait and Jordan. Iran said the US also hit civilian targets, including an airport and a railway station. A senior Iranian military adviser warned of a full-scale offensive if the attacks continue. Shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has fallen sharply because of the fighting.
