UK Prime Minister Burnham visits Ukraine to announce missile production support

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham visited Kyiv on Monday to announce new British support for Ukraine's weapons production. The visit fell on Ukraine's independence day and was Burnham's first foreign trip as prime minister.

The UK has agreed to let defence company MBDA share secret technical information about parts used in the Storm Shadow missile. This information will help set up production lines in France and Ukraine, so Ukraine can build more of these long-range missiles itself.

Burnham met President Zelenskyy and co-chaired a meeting of Western nations coordinating military aid. France's President Macron has also promised to send interceptor missiles to Ukraine. Russia has continued to attack Ukrainian cities with missiles throughout the war.
