Two women rescued alive from Nepal flood debris after days buried

Rescue teams in Nepal have pulled two women out alive after they were buried under rubble from flooding. Guna Maya Bohara, aged 97, was trapped for four days under the remains of her care home. Workers used heavy machinery to lift her free, and photos showed her being carried in a digger scoop. Chandrika Shrestha, aged 64, survived for ten days under debris from her home in Nuwakot before rescuers reached her. She was then flown by helicopter to Kathmandu for medical treatment. Flash floods have destroyed homes across many parts of Nepal, and teams have been searching for survivors ever since. Both women were buried under mud and broken buildings for days before they were found alive.
