Two men sentenced to prison for Feeding Our Future fraud scheme

Two men have been sent to prison in Minnesota for stealing pandemic relief money. Ahmed Ghedi received a sentence of over five years, and Abdihakim Ahmed received four and a half years. Both men were found guilty of wire fraud and money laundering. They falsely claimed to be running a food programme that fed thousands of children every day in the Twin Cities area. Ghedi collected around $7.2 million in federal funds meant for child nutrition. Ahmed and others spent about $7.3 million on personal items, including a car and property. The court ordered both men to repay millions of dollars. Their case is part of a $250 million fraud involving an organisation called Feeding Our Future, the largest pandemic fraud case in US history.
