Trump halts Iran strikes, announces new diplomatic talks

President Trump called off planned military strikes against Iran on August 3, 2026, and announced new diplomatic talks instead. Trump said Gulf allies Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates asked him to stop the attack. He described the canceled operation as the largest planned strike since World War II.
