Huang put the call on speakerphone so the audience could listen. The call lasted about five minutes. Trump said that concerns about AI safety are a "hoax" and a "scam." He argued that AI does not threaten humanity and that robots will not take control of the world. Trump also said he does not want to slow down AI development or add new rules for the industry. He suggested that people who worry about AI safety may have political reasons, or may be helping China. Earlier that day, Trump had posted similar views on his Truth Social platform.
