Trump administration seeks Supreme Court approval for mail voting restrictions

The Trump administration has asked the Supreme Court to allow new mail-in voting rules to take effect. This is the third time it has taken the issue to the high court.

A federal judge blocked the rules last week. She said the US Postal Service should not enforce them while legal challenges continue. Twenty-three states and Washington D.C. are fighting the restrictions in court.

President Trump's executive order limits how voters can use mail-in ballots. The postal service created rules requiring special barcodes and official logos on ballots. Trump says the order stops non-citizens from voting, but studies show this almost never happens.
