Troy Jackson advances in Maine Democratic Senate race

Troy Jackson won delegate support in eight Maine counties on Saturday, as Democrats began choosing who will replace Graham Platner in the state Senate.

County meetings took place in many locations, including college halls, gymnasiums, and barns. Some groups met online.

Jackson, a former president of the Maine State Senate, is seen as a progressive candidate. He has already opened a committee to explore running for the seat.
