Tree-lined walking path near Chichester becomes popular tourist destination

A tree-lined path in West Sussex has become one of England's most photographed outdoor spots, drawing visitors from across the country. The walk starts at Mill Lane in Halnaker, a small village about three and a half miles north of Chichester, and climbs gently through woodland toward Halnaker Windmill. The path sits inside the South Downs National Park and follows part of Stane Street, a Roman road built nearly two thousand years ago to connect London with Chichester. Over centuries, heavy foot traffic has worn the ground down into a sunken lane, and the trees above now form a natural archway. The location has grown popular on social media because of its striking appearance. Visitors travelling from Central London can reach it in around ninety minutes.
