Telegram launches Gram wallet to selected users, token rises

Telegram has started giving some users access to its new Gram Wallet, a crypto wallet built into the messaging app. The announcement pushed the price of the GRAM token up by around 2 to 7 percent, reaching between $1.36 and $1.50. Trading volume roughly doubled, rising by about 140 percent. The wallet holds users' own funds directly, with no middleman, and charges zero transaction fees. Telegram CEO Pavel Durov said the rollout will expand gradually and could reach more than one billion users within weeks. GRAM is the native token of The Open Network blockchain, which was called Toncoin until a rebrand in June 2026. Following the announcement, the token's total market value reached approximately $4.18 billion.
