Tate brothers charged with rape and trafficking in UK

Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested in Miami on Saturday. British prosecutors have charged them with rape, human trafficking, and other serious crimes against women. Andrew, 38, faces ten charges connected to three women. His brother Tristan, 36, faces eleven charges connected to one woman. Both men deny all the charges.

The UK's Crown Prosecution Service approved the charges in January 2024. British courts issued arrest warrants at the same time. The brothers also face separate charges in Romania, where they were first arrested in 2022 for similar crimes. Those Romanian cases are still going through the courts.

Andrew and Tristan Tate hold both US and British citizenship. They had been living in Romania since 2016 before travelling to the United States.
