Supporters form human chain around Kennedy Center during protest

About one thousand people gathered outside the Kennedy Center in Washington on Friday evening to protest against President Trump's control of the building. Demonstrators linked arms to form a human chain around the centre while singing and playing music. Workers and performing artists joined the rally, which was organised by a group called Hands Off the Arts. Protesters want Trump removed as chairman of the centre. He took over its board last year, replaced its leadership, and later closed the facility. Trump has said the building needs to be torn down unless it receives funding, and he has connected that funding to putting his name on the building. A federal judge has ordered the government to give 30 days' notice before making any major changes to renovation plans.
