Singer Rick Springfield says he killed enemy combatant during Vietnam War

Rick Springfield says he killed a man during the Vietnam War in 1968. He was 17 years old at the time and was visiting Vietnam as a musician, entertaining American troops. He was staying at a U.S. Navy base near Da Nang when enemy fighters attacked. During the attack, soldiers asked him to fire mortars from a radio shack. The next day, he was told that one of his shots had hit an enemy target. Springfield, now 77, spoke about this on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. He later became famous for his 1980s hit song "Jessie's Girl." He says the experience has stayed with him for nearly 60 years, and that he still finds it hard to accept that he ended another person's life.
