Shoppers identify best value items at Dollar Tree after price increases

Shoppers and journalists in the United States have been sharing advice about which Dollar Tree products still offer genuine savings, after the discount chain raised its standard price from one dollar to $1.25.

Dollar Tree built its reputation on selling everything for a single dollar, but prices have been climbing in recent years. Some premium items now cost $1.50 or more. The store has also stopped selling eggs because wholesale prices rose too high.

Despite the increases, certain categories remain cheaper than at regular supermarkets or pharmacies. Greeting cards sell for just 50 cents. Batteries, spices, hand soap, cleaning products, and LED light bulbs are frequently mentioned as strong bargains. Canned goods and sparkling water have also been recommended as worthwhile grocery purchases.
