Senior ANZ banker Christina Tonkin resigns after 16 years

Christina Tonkin has left ANZ Bank after nearly 16 years at the company. She worked as Managing Director of Corporate Finance in the bank's institutional division. Her last day was at the end of September.

Tonkin was an experienced banker in project finance, especially in natural resources. She previously led a team focused on oil, gas, and mining projects.

Her departure happened while ANZ was reorganising this part of its business. The bank decided to split its natural resources finance work into two separate divisions, one for oil and gas and one for metals and mining. ANZ wanted to take advantage of strong growth in the resources sector. Tonkin had built up a large amount of knowledge during her long career at the bank.
