Scottish woman found dead in Athens suitcase, man arrested

A Scottish woman has been found dead inside a suitcase in Athens, Greece. Elisabeth-Jane Ross, 38, had travelled from the UK to Greece on 29 June. Her body was discovered on 18 July by a homeless man in an empty building in the Kypseli area of the city. Police believe she had been dead for five to seven days before she was found. A 26-year-old Afghan man has been arrested on charges of manslaughter and robbery. Police say he put her body in the suitcase and moved it to the building. He also used her bank cards and phone after her death. Greek police worked with Police Scotland and the UK's National Crime Agency on the case. Scottish government officials have expressed concern about her death.
