Russian drone strike destroys ammunition warehouse near Kyiv

A Russian drone hit a military ammunition warehouse near Kyiv on Wednesday, killing at least 37 people. The warehouse was in the village of Myla, close to homes in the western suburbs of the city. The strike caused large explosions and a serious fire. At least 50 nearby buildings were damaged, and nearly 400 residents had to leave the area. A local mayor was among those killed. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said the ammunition should not have been stored so near to residential areas. Russia's defence ministry said it had targeted a warehouse holding drone parts. This is one of the deadliest attacks on the Kyiv region since Russia launched its full-scale invasion more than four years ago.
