Russian businessman funded portion of Trump Jr.'s Bahamas wedding

A Russian businessman paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for parts of Donald Trump Jr.'s wedding in the Bahamas in May 2026. Umar Kremlev covered two nights of celebrations on May 22 and 23. He paid around $100,000 per night to rent a private island and about $70,000 for fireworks. Kremlev leads the International Boxing Association and has close ties to the Russian government. Vladimir Putin gave him the Order of Friendship in April 2026. Ukraine has placed him under sanctions because of his Kremlin connections. Trump Jr. and his wife Bettina confirmed the funding themselves on Instagram. The arrangement has raised questions about financial links between the Trump family and Russian figures connected to the government.
