Russia launches major missile attack on Kyiv killing multiple people

Russia fired up to 41 ballistic missiles at Kyiv in July 2026, killing at least 10 people and injuring more than 30. The attack lasted about one hour and began after 1:30 in the afternoon. Ukrainian air defences stopped nearly half of the missiles, but many got through. At least 10 explosions were heard across the capital at the same time. One missile hit an apartment building, and fires broke out in several parts of the city. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said it was one of the biggest attacks on Kyiv since the war started. Russia and Ukraine have both been striking each other's territory, with Ukraine targeting Russian oil facilities and Russia continuing to hit Ukrainian cities.
