Russia launches major missile and drone attack on Ukrainian cities

Russia launched nearly 600 drones and dozens of missiles at Ukraine on July 30, hitting seven regions across the country. The attack went on for more than 12 hours. At least four people were killed and around 70 others were injured, though some reports put the death toll much higher. A 12-year-old girl was among those killed in the Sumy region. Many of the drones and missiles were aimed at Kyiv, where residents heard multiple explosions. President Zelenskyy had warned the public about the attack before it happened, based on intelligence reports. Russia said it struck military and industrial targets. Zelenskyy promised Ukraine would respond and called on Europe and the United States to act strongly.
