Rockstar releases first official Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay footage

Rockstar Games released the first official gameplay footage of Grand Theft Auto 6 on August 27, 2024. The video, called "Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look", showed footage recorded on a PlayStation 5. Netflix streamed it first at 3pm Eastern time. Six hours later, Rockstar uploaded it to YouTube. This was the first time the public had seen real gameplay, after two trailers and several delays. Rockstar had also dealt with unofficial leaks in the weeks before the release. The company announced the game about four and a half years before this reveal. GTA 6 is currently planned for release on November 19, 2026.
