Robert Downey Jr. returns as Iron Man for Disney theme park attraction

Disney has announced that Robert Downey Jr. will return as Iron Man in a new theme park attraction. The announcement came at the D23 fan event in August 2026. The attraction is called "Avengers: Infinity Defense" and will open at Disney California Adventure park. This is surprising because Iron Man died in "Avengers: Endgame," which came out more than seven years ago. Several other Marvel actors will also return. Jeremy Renner will appear as Hawkeye, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, and Chris Hemsworth as Thor. Iman Vellani, known for her role in "Ms. Marvel," will appear in an introduction video for the attraction. Disney has been adding more Marvel experiences to its parks in recent years.
