RFT Films secures U.K. distribution rights for Indian-British romantic drama

RFT Films has acquired the rights to show "My Indian Boyfriend: The Golden Mile" in UK and Irish cinemas, ahead of filming which is planned for summer 2026. The film is a British version of a Hong Kong romantic drama. It follows Jasmine, a Chinese architecture student, and Krishna, a British-Indian dancer, during Diwali celebrations in Leicester. Malaysian actress Jolene Tiong plays Jasmine, while London-based actor Sushant Shekhar plays Krishna in his first feature film role. Shekhar trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. The project brings together talent from the UK, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and India. Director Vijay Chauhan, who grew up in Leicester, is also making his feature debut. Hiu Man Chan produced the film.
