Research shows London buyers can save thousands in adjacent postcodes

New research has found that buying a home just outside a popular postcode can save buyers hundreds of thousands of pounds. On average, properties next to the most desirable areas cost around 28 percent less. In London, homes in NW2, which covers Cricklewood and Dollis Hill, are about £232,000 cheaper than those in neighbouring NW3, home to Hampstead and Belsize Park. Buyers in these cheaper postcodes may still have good access to the same transport links and local services. The research also looked at areas outside London. In the North East, homes in Blyth averaged £141,947 less than those in nearby Whitley Bay. Similar gaps appeared in other regions, including a £31,075 difference between two postcodes in Northern Ireland.
