Research shows AI reduces time spent on workplace tasks by up to 76 percent

New research shows AI tools are saving workers significant time across many job types. Writing a document used to take around 80 minutes on average. With AI help, the same task now takes about 25 minutes. Technical troubleshooting has seen even bigger gains, dropping from 115 minutes to just 28 minutes. On a typical day, employees save around 52 minutes by using AI tools. Nearly half of all managers say their projects are finishing faster than before. About 47 percent of organisations now let AI handle routine, repeated tasks. The biggest time savings have appeared in programming and technical work, where task times have fallen by up to 76 percent. However, it is not yet clear whether workers will use this extra time to rest or simply take on more work.
