Orange County declares Jade Winds condo complex unsafe for residents

Orange County officials have declared several buildings at the Jade Winds Condo Complex in Orlando unsafe to live in. Inspectors found serious problems throughout the complex. These include cracks in the structure, exposed metal rods in the concrete, and water valves damaged by rust. Workers also detected unusually low electrical voltage in the buildings. Officials posted notices on the buildings to warn residents about the dangers. People who live there have said they are worried about what will happen to their homes. The problems are serious enough that residents may not be able to stay in their apartments until repairs are completed. Fixing issues like these usually requires major construction work.
