Ontario premier installs large sign defending Lake Ontario name against Trump

Ontario Premier Doug Ford put up a large sign near Grimsby, Ontario on Saturday. The sign reads "Lake Ontario. Now and Always." It is about 18 feet tall and carries the same message in French.

Ford acted after President Trump signed an order telling U.S. federal agencies to call the lake "Lake America." Google Maps changed the name for U.S. users after the order. Trump also posted AI-made videos of himself replacing a Lake Ontario sign and then dancing.

Ford said the lake will keep its name long after Trump leaves office.
