Olivia Wilde's film The Invite acquired by A24 at Sundance

Olivia Wilde's new film "The Invite" had its first public screening at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2026, and the studio A24 quickly bought the rights to release it in cinemas. Wilde directed the film and also stars in it alongside Seth Rogen, playing a married couple in their 40s. Their upstairs neighbours are played by Edward Norton and Penélope Cruz. The story takes place during a single dinner party, where old tensions and unspoken problems slowly come to the surface. The screenplay was written by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack. This is Wilde's third film as director, following "Booksmart" and "Don't Worry Darling". A limited release is planned for 26 June, with a wider nationwide release on 10 July.
