Ohio senator calls congressman former son-in-law unfit for office

Senator Bernie Moreno publicly called on Representative Max Miller to leave Congress on Sunday, August 2, 2026. Moreno is Miller's former father-in-law. He posted a long statement on social media, accusing Miller of "erratic and dangerous behavior" toward his daughter and granddaughter. Moreno said Miller does not meet basic standards of character for elected office and should get professional help. The accusations come from Miller's divorce proceedings. Earlier that morning, Miller had defended himself in a livestream, saying he had "nothing to hide." Moreno had previously refused to speak publicly about the matter, calling it a private family issue. Miller said he will not withdraw from his November congressional race.
