Newborn baby dies in Sheffield, seven people arrested for murder

A newborn baby girl died in Sheffield on Sunday after police were called to a house in the Wincobank area at around 6am. Officers and paramedics went to Holywell Heights but could not save the baby, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Seven people have been arrested on suspicion of murder and all remained in custody when this was reported. Police are still working to confirm the ages of some of those arrested. Detective Chief Inspector Emma Knight is leading the investigation. She has asked the public not to speculate about what happened, as the investigation is still at an early stage.
