Multiple UK railways operate Polar Express train experiences during Christmas season

Families across the UK can ride a Polar Express train this Christmas, with several heritage railways running the popular experience until 23 December. The events are based on the 2004 animated film and an even older children's book from 1985.

Each journey includes actors in costume, hot chocolate, and cookies. Passengers collect a golden ticket before boarding and receive a silver sleigh bell from Santa during the trip. A shop selling merchandise is available at every location.

In London, trains depart from Euston Station five times a day. Tickets cost £59.95 whether you are a young child or an adult. Other locations include railways in Yorkshire and South Devon. The Yorkshire railway welcomed more than 50,000 visitors in 2026 and holds a 98% approval rating on Facebook.
