Multiple artists perform at World Cup halftime show with Muppets

Several big music acts performed at the halftime show of the 2026 World Cup. This was the first time the tournament included a formal entertainment show like the Super Bowl.

Shakira opened barefoot in a colourful feathered dress, dancing with performers and singing with Burna Boy. Their song "Dai Dai" later appeared on British music charts. BTS performed their hit "Dynamite," and Coldplay's Chris Martin sang "Believe in Love" with a children's choir from Staten Island.

Muppet characters including Kermit and Miss Piggy also appeared, performing "Seven Nation Army." Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel led around 40 musicians from two orchestras. The music was recorded earlier in the week at a venue in Manhattan.
