Mexico files criminal complaints over deaths of migrants in US immigration operations

Mexico's government will file criminal complaints in US courts over the deaths of 17 Mexican citizens during immigration enforcement operations. Fourteen died while held by ICE, and three died during arrest operations.

One of those killed was Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, shot by an ICE agent in Houston on Tuesday. His family said he was travelling to work when he was shot. The Department of Homeland Security said he drove his vehicle at an officer. Three men who were with him have rejected that account.

More than 1,000 people protested in Houston after his death. Mexico's foreign affairs minister said the complaints will go to US state prosecutors and the Department of Justice.
