Since their launch, some users have modified the glasses to hide or remove the LED indicator, allowing them to record without others' knowledge. Meta plans to remove online listings for these modifications and may take legal action against sellers. The company's smart glasses control over 60 percent of the global market. Last year, smart glasses shipments increased by 210 percent, with estimates suggesting Meta has sold between 2 million and 7 million units. The update represents Meta's attempt to prevent unauthorized recording and tackle the privacy problems that have troubled the product since its introduction.
