Manchester City signs Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea for 125 million pounds

Manchester City have signed Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea for £125 million, completing the deal on the final day of the transfer window on 2 February 2026.

The fee equals the British transfer record, which Liverpool set when they bought Alexander Isak. Fernandez is the first player ever to move for more than £100 million twice. Chelsea previously signed him from Benfica for £106 million in January 2023.

The transfer took around six months to complete. Chelsea wanted £135 million just days before the deal, but they accepted City's lower offer the following day.
