Man stops alleged car thief during failed getaway in Perth

Adam Breen stopped an alleged thief at a bottle shop in Perth last Saturday. Breen was queuing to buy drinks for his birthday party when a man ran out of the Dan Murphy's store in Carine carrying stolen alcohol. The man jumped into a Mazda that had no licence plate, but the car's handbrake was still on. The vehicle could not move properly and left tyre marks on the ground as the driver struggled. Breen used this moment to perform a citizen's arrest and stopped the man from escaping. He later said that a nearby woman filming the incident motivated him to act. The attempted theft failed, and the video has since been widely shared on social media.
