Man killed after entering tiger enclosure at English wildlife park

A man died on Saturday after a tiger attacked him at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, near Doncaster in England. William Chapman, 23, had entered the enclosure where an Amur tiger named Altai was kept. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Chapman was visiting the park alone. His family said he had suffered from serious mental illness for several years and had been taking strong medication. They have asked authorities to investigate how he got into the enclosure. The tiger was not put down after the incident. The park closed following the death, and Doncaster Council has opened a health and safety investigation. Chapman had also worked as a child actor earlier in his life.
