Man fatally shot during parking lot dispute at Walmart in Florida

A man was shot dead in a Walmart car park in North Lauderdale, Florida, on Tuesday after an argument with a woman over a parking space. The victim, Bart DiGuglielmo, was 62 years old and had previously served in the US Army and worked as a trauma nurse. He was shot in the stomach and later died in hospital.

The dispute began verbally before DiGuglielmo moved toward the woman, who then pulled out a gun and fired. Footage from a nearby Tesla and bystanders' phones recorded the incident. Before shooting, the woman was heard telling DiGuglielmo to walk away.

She stayed at the scene and spoke to police, claiming she acted in self-defence. She has not been charged. The case has been passed to the Broward County State Attorney's Office, which will decide whether to bring charges.
