Man arrested after rushing toward Ohio governor candidate at fair

A man rushed toward Ohio Democratic governor candidate Amy Acton at a county fair on September 6, 2026, and knocked over several people in the crowd. Patrick Havas, 38, from Canfield, Ohio, pushed through the crowd at the Canfield Fair near Youngstown. He knocked down at least two people, including an elderly person on a mobility scooter who fell and hit his head. Security officers from Acton's protection team stopped and handcuffed Havas. When police searched him, they found two pistols and a Taser. He did not take out any weapons during the incident. Acton was not hurt. The injured people were checked by medical staff but did not need further treatment. Havas has been charged with disorderly conduct and two counts of assault.
