Loganair ends all operations at Dundee Airport in October

Loganair will stop all flights from Dundee Airport on 23 October. The airline says the service is no longer financially sustainable. The main route connected Dundee to London Heathrow twice a day on weekdays and once on Sundays. It had run since 2014 with financial support from local and national governments, because passenger numbers alone could not cover the costs. The closure will also reduce air links to Orkney and Shetland, which depended on connections through Dundee. Loganair has said it will help Dundee-based staff find new jobs within the company. The airline originally planned to end services on 28 September but later moved the final date to 23 October.
