Large wildfire forces evacuations near Suffolk nuclear power station

A large wildfire broke out on Wednesday evening at Dunwich Heath in Suffolk, eastern England. The fire started just after 5:30pm and quickly spread across more than 80 hectares. Around 90 firefighters were sent to tackle the blaze, and a major incident was declared because of its size. Hundreds of people had to leave their homes, including about 200 caravans from a nearby holiday park. The Sizewell B nuclear power station is around five kilometres away, but officials said they did not believe it was in danger. Firefighters used heavy machinery from the nuclear plant to cut firebreaks and stop the fire from spreading further.
