Jury convicts man of orchestrating 1996 Tupac Shakur murder

A Las Vegas jury has found Duane Davis, 63, guilty of murdering rapper Tupac Shakur in 1996. Davis, known as Keffe D, did not fire the shots himself but organised the attack. The jury reached its decision in under three hours, after a trial of less than two weeks.

Prosecutors built their case largely on Davis's own words. He had described the shooting in a memoir and in interviews with police and filmmakers. The two men believed to have fired the weapon are both dead.

Davis will be sentenced on October 13 and could spend the rest of his life in prison. His lawyer plans to appeal. Some of Shakur's family said they felt relief, though others close to him said the verdict did not bring them closure.
