Judge orders murder trial for singer in teen death case

A judge ruled in April 2026 that US musician D4vd will face trial for the murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The decision came after a five-day hearing where prosecutors showed evidence from about twelve witnesses. Celeste's remains were found in September 2025 inside a Tesla car registered to the musician's address. D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, is 21 years old. He has pleaded not guilty to murder, sexual abuse of a child, and mutilating human remains. Prosecutors say he killed Celeste to stop her from revealing details about their relationship and to protect his career. Celeste was first reported missing in February 2024. Burke was arrested roughly ten months after her remains were discovered.
